South Street Public Art

When leaving South Street Seaport yesterday, we came across this "fence embroidery" by Katherine Daniels. The 600 foot long display of "flowers" made of reclaimed objects disguises the ugly contruction site beyond the fence.
It's a wonderful idea to use recycled objects to beautify an area that would otherwise be an eye sore.

  1. very, very cool. Nice to know that somebody is thinking about the beauty, not just money the new construction will bring :)

  3. Only in NYC. I love it and think it is so original and cool that they would take the time to decorate a construction site. rhonda
