We have a skunk living under the shed in our yard. I am not kidding. We discovered it just now when we pulled in the driveway and saw it strutting around the yard. As we parked the car it walked behind the shed. Then, it peeked around the shed to see if we were watching, decided we weren't, and sauntered under the shed. Fantastic. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it. Suggestions?
My parents had one under their screen porch... my dad set poison out... and it never came back... but you guys should call animal control... Im sure they would come get it
ReplyDeletesee if there is a local nature center or reserve within a descent driving distance. If not give it a few more weeks (without bothering it) and then take it somewhere safe and let it go. Its so tiny looks like its mommy should be around...be careful
ReplyDeleteyes please dont poison it lol
ReplyDeleteWe had a mother and babies under our shed out back. Problem was our dog wanted at them!! We did call animal control: not an inexpensive proposition: I think it would have been minimum $400.
ReplyDeleteSo....we waited until one night when we knew they were all out somewhere, then closed up the hole with stones and yes, mortar. Believe me, they will find a way back in if they can.
Anyway, end of problem!
Animal control definitely. They'll catch him for you and set him free in the woods somewhere.
ReplyDeleteCheck to see if you have a volunteer wildlife reserve in your area. We had a rabbit in our backyard that abandon her babies a few years ago, and a volunteer came (for free) and took care of them at a proper place so that they would eventually be able to live on their own.
ReplyDeleteOh, how cute is that baby skunk? He's so little. Hope he's o.k. I am now your newest follower. :)
ReplyDeletep.s. I am having a Donna Hay cookbook giveaway if it's of interest to you. xo
I don't know. You could try my strategy and ignore it and hope he goes away...
