90 degrees inside our house? No, thank you! Our HVAC system took it's last breath on Friday. During the very hottest week of the summer. Needless to say we got out of there in a hurry, and we won't be spending much time there until it gets replaced! We're incredibly lucky because our home warranty company is covering most of the cost to replace it, but the bad part is that we have to wait a few more days for the new unit to come in.
So, we've been forced to take a hiatus from house projects. We didn't realize exactly how absorbed we've been until we had to step back from it! Kane took me on an impromptu date yesterday afternoon to take advantage of our free time. One milkshake and one Harry Potter movie later, I felt more relaxed than I have in weeks. Even with the broken AC. Funny how things work out that way sometimes.
Oh, and we had another skunk spotting last night. :)
Have you had any house dramas lately?

No AC, that stinks! But, so glad that it's covered under your warranty!
ReplyDeleteWow, no AC...that most definitely stinks worse than the skunks!!!

Date nights are the best!!! We've had a few bug appearances...a tiny centipede in the kitchen...then something else longish and slimy in our BEDROOM that was lost, then I think I killed it but we have no idea. Needless to say I wasn't very fond of sleeping in that room that night. Also I thought I felt something on my hand last night, but I think it was the fan blowing my hair around :)
ReplyDeleteAh, yeah. An AC system going kaput on a hot day is a real bummer. It can be quite irritating, but in the end, it's best to think happy thoughts, no? The heat gets worse when one thinks negatively.
ReplyDeleteA milkshake is a sure way to beat the heat; you had a great alternative choice, actually. I feel sorry for your AC unit. How long have you been using that unit, anyway? That could be a factor as to why it finally broke down. How's your new AC coming along?
ReplyDeleteAww! What an untimely inconvenience! At least, you don’t have to spend a dime for repairs, but you will have to wait and endure a few more hot days! Maybe you should think about buying a new AC. After all, AC’s now are more energy efficient and cost-effective.

Nothing says 'Burn my dread' like a house without an AC, and to top it all of it's on a hot day. Well, best get out of a hot house and feel nature's wind for a while, eh? Though, it would probably be in your best interests to get a new AC.
ReplyDeleteThanks to your impromptu date, you had a reason to go out and be free from the stress caused by the broken HVAC. Good thing that it is covered by the home warranty, at least you wouldn’t have to spend anything at all to repair it. Anyway, do regular maintenance for your HVAC so that you wouldn’t have to experience such an inconvenience next time.

Milkshake, a good movie, and your special someone, what else was there to ask for? There’s always something worth smiling for, and you should thank your bf for saving you from that hot day. At least now, you have a new AC that will surely spare you from the summer’s scorching heat. I hope that you're taking care of your new AC!

It’s good to hear that you finally found a great way not to get annoyed with the broken AC. I want to know how long it took to repair your AC. Three days? One week? If that was it, so, did you have different flavors of milkshake each day? Hehehe! ;)
