Brooklyn Flea

Kane and I braved the monsoon today to go to Brooklyn Flea. I was planning on waiting until the summer to go so that it would be warm and outdoors, but then I heard about how great the building is where they house the market during the winter. I'm so glad that we went!

Excuse my dark pictures! It was a gloomy day.
I love these old seltzer bottles.
I thought of Spencer Morgan Designs when I saw this great costume jewelry!
Vault door.
Kane checking it out.
They house Brooklyn Flea at One Hanson Place during the winter. The building is the former home of the Williamsburgh Savings Bank. The seller's set up their stalls around and behind the old bank teller windows. And, in the basement of the bank they have tons of local food vendors set up inside the old bank vault! It was so cool to walk through the old vault doors!

I bought a painted picture frame. I'll post about it once I get it hung!

  2. It was so cool. I was amazed how thick the vault doors were. We were inside the vault eating red velvet cupcakes. They were so good. Another great thing is that the vault still had all the money in it so I swiped a couple bucks for me and kendall.

  3. Absolutely beautiful! Looks more like a cathedral than a bank.

  6. Becca, you're welcome anytime! There were some really great pieces. If you end up in NYC you'll have to check it out.

Also, I can't wait to go back again in April once the flea market moves outdoors. Apparently it's way bigger in the summer.
