Great Accessories

Aren't these old Amish buggy wheels incredible? I got these from a craftsman based in Indiana. They look pretty great in the front of our office.

The Perfect Lake House

I was drawn to this lake house by Tracery Interiors because it's such a similar aesthetic to my current company. This Lake Martin, AL house is featured in this month's issue of Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles. Beautifully done.

Hopes and Wishes

Image found here.
I'm thankful for what I have this Easter. I have family and friends and special times to celebrate. There are lots of things that I don't have, but hopefully those things will come in time. I'm also thankful for all of you who read this blog. What are you thankful for?

Yummy Easter Treat

There are a thousand deviled eggs in my kitchen. That's a sure sign that Easter's here. And I finally get to use my Anthro egg plate. Yay!

Easter Eggs!

Are any of you decorating Easter eggs this year? I haven't done it in forever! It's probably not going to happen this year, but I still love these beauties from Martha Stewart.

Quilts

Quilts can seem antiquated sometimes, but they don't have to. These spaces manage to transform quilts into beautiful modern art. This first one is a real stunner. Did out your old quilts, everyone!

Red Rock Tileworks

I'm really excited about a tile company I've just found. Red Rock Tileworks is a green company based in Charleston, IL. Check out their green mission statement here.

Their Venue Collection is my favorite! The 4x9 tiles are inspired by Art Deco architecture in South Beach and Manhattan. Check out their huge selection of colors here. How do you feel about patterned tile?

HGTV Here We Come!

Image found here.
They picked us! They picked us! We are so excited to start filming our very own episode of "My First Place." We don't know exactly what to expect, but we can't wait to get started! And of course, we can't wait to find our perfect house.

I know I've been missing in action this week. I was traveling for work for a couple of days and I'm just now catching back up to myself! I hope all of you have a fantastic weekend. Ours will include some house-hunting!

Jacques Grange Bedrooms

Today I'm inspired by Jacques Grange's bedrooms. and in case any of you are thinking "Is that a tiger in that bedroom?" The answer is yes! He's been designing for elite clients since the 1970s, and he's got the touch.

I hope you're all enjoying this stunning weekend. Unfortunately I'm at the office, but I'm going to fix that really soon! :)

"My First Place"

Image here.
Well, I've debated all week if I should say anything, but why not? Kane and I are in the running to be on HGTV's My First Place! Cool, right? We entered online last weekend, and in the last week we've had phone interviews, emailed pictures of ourselves and had an hour-long on-camera interview in our apartment! Whew!

We'll find out if we've been picked in about a week. I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out. I think it'll be a really neat way to document our experience of buying our first home!

Fingers crossed!

The Search Begins for Our First Place!

We officially started the search for our first home yesterday! It's a big step, but now that we live in a city where there are houses available for less than half a million dollars (in other words, not NYC) we can't wait to get settled in to a place of our own.

I'm pretty particular, so we're expecting the search to last a while. These pictures are a little too perfect for our price range - our real place will probably look more like a 1960's ranch in need of some serious TLC. But that's just part of the fun!

Bargain Necklace

Ann Taylor is having a big sale right now. I found this great necklace for only $11! It's leather woven through the chain. Be sure to check out the sale...

My weekend plans include a haircut and a facial in the morning which is exactly what I need right now. Thanks Groupon for letting me have both for $45!! Do you have any awesome plans for the weekend?
