Glitter!

I am unbelievably excited about all of my new glitter. It was a total impulse buy because it was on sale, but I don't regret it at all! I think I have enough to last me for the rest of my life. Now, any suggestions of what I should do with it?

I am 99% finished addressing our Christmas cards. Thank goodness! Job well done. Those of you whose addresses I still need...you know who you are. :)

Parnassus Books

Nashville has a bookstore other than Barnes & Noble and I'm so excited about it! Author Ann Patchett has opened up an independant shop called Parnassus Books. I visited for the first time about a week ago and haven't been able to stay away!

If you're in the Nashville area be sure to stop in and support this new small business, since great locally owned bookstores are so hard to find!

Stocking Stuffers in the Etsy Shop!

I've posted some great new vintage stamps in the A Girl in the World Etsy shop! Some of them are as inexpensive as $4.10 and would make great stocking stuffers for people who love beautiful paper goods. They can also be fantastic paired with a beautiful set of notecards or return address labels!

Now if only I could get my own holiday shopping started...

The new and improved McAlpine Booth & Ferrier Atlanta Studio is up and running. Susan Ferrier has some sweet new digs! A beautiful new home for our awesome company!

Master Bedroom Drapery

After having these Ikea drapery panels and ceiling tracks in my posession for months (literally since August) I finally got them hung today. Thanks to my Mom for hemming them for me this week. Installing the track took longer than expected, hence the really dark night time photos, but I just couldn't wait to show you!

The goal was for our Master Bedroom to be really dark and cozy, with drapery on three walls that envelope the room. Success! I'm so pleased with how it turned out. Check out this post for what our Master Bedroom looked like originally and this in-progress post.

Up next: replacing our $10 Lowes roller shade (which is now a glaring white spot in our charcoal bedroom) with a Roman shade, and painting our window casings to match the walls and new baseboards. I also have plans to either make or buy an upholstered headboard for our bed, and paint some new artwork to hang in front of the drapery walls. But hey, one thing at a time. :)

What's My Name Again?

I was gifted this awesome necklace at the wedding I was in last weekend. I've never had name jewelry before and I am SO excited about it! It's my new favorite piece of jewelry! You know my feelings, but what are your thoughts on name jewelry?

Geneva + Brian 11.11.11

I feel like I've been away from the blog forever! My best friend Geneva got married on Friday night, so I've been in Atlanta performing my matron of honor duties!! The wedding was perfect, and the bride was stunning. Check out the dress! She and her mom made it together - how incredible is that? Congrats to Geneva and Brian. I wish them many years of health and happiness. Cheers!

I hope that everyone had the most wonderful Halloween! I was wrapped up in wedding festivities for my best friend, Geneva. She's the lovely Princess Peach and her fiance Brian is Mario. (The belly is blown up, by the way. :) I'm a beer pong table, in case you were wondering.
