Wedding Sneak Peek

We're having a wonderful weekend in Florida celebrating Ellen and Jimmy's wedding! Lots of fun pictures to come once we get back home tomorrow. For now, here are just a few.

Cozy Nook for Fall Days

I keep a lot of magazine images that I've pulled over the years. Every so often I have to go through them and cull them out to make room for more. I end up throwing a lot out, but a few are so great that they stay with me for ages. This great cozy reading nook I pulled from New York Spaces is one of them. It calls my name.

Decorating for Fall

I like the idea of adding a few Fall touches to your home each year that are subtle, but still add warth for the season. Like these tree branches, leaves and pumpkins (I love that these are perforated with holes instead of traditional jack-o-lantern designs).

At Home Art Project

I've gotten tired lately of my main living room wall being so empty. But, at the same time, I didn't want to spend much money to fill it! My solution was to buy an inexpensive canvas and make some art of my own.

All I did was mask of some lines with painters tape, and fill in the blank spaces with color. And I mean color! Three coats of acrylic paint later, and it's finished.

British company Niki Jones has a great mix of vintage and new items available online. Somewhere in the mix of Anthropologie and ABC Home. I especially love the vintage kantha quilts.

Anniversary

Hi everyone! I've been absent for longer than usual due to some late nights leading up to a client presentation on Friday. Sorry about that. The presentation went great, and I'm back! Wednesday night was Kane and I's three year wedding anniversary, and I can barely believe it.

You know it's love when your husband brings you a pizza picnic at your office when you're working late on your anniversary. I'm the luckiest girl in the world. Here's to 50 more years.

Massimo Vitali

I'm pooped after a long day at work. Check out these great pieces by one of my favorite photographers, Massimo Vitali. They speak for themselves.

Fall!

Today was the most perfect October day I've seen. Warm and beautiful. We did all the things you want to do on a fall Saturday - went to the farmer's market to buy pumpkins, shopped for Halloween costumes, carved our pumpkins, baked cookies and watched football. The only thing missing was apple cider.
And yes, Kane did change clothes half way through the process.

It's That Time of Year

I'm breaking out the tights! I love tights and I wear them with almost everything in the fall and winter. Last week I found these lovelies at J Crew and couldn't resist. It's hard to find tights with back seams, so when I do find them I grab them! And in ballet pink with polka dots? No question.

Axel Vervoordt

These beautiful images from Axel Vervoordt's castle are so inspiring. The kitchens in particular are really livable. He's a master of comfortable, human scale spaces.

Coco Before Chanel

Coco Before Chanel came out last year, and I just got around to watching it on Netflix. It's a French film, so you have to read subtitles, but the gorgeous costumes make up for that times ten. The clothes are so beautiful they make you want to cry!

South of Market

South Of Market in Atlanta sources some great finds from France and Belgium. These are a few of my favorite picks. The pendant lights made of all different types of baskets are really creative. They've also got a lot of great, stylish upholstered pieces.
