A Few More! I Can't Resist.

I've spent a lot of time posting about Logan and Logan's wedding this week. And I can't promise that this will be the last time! These pictures were taken by Jeff Bennett, a great friend of the Simmons. He did a fabulous job!

So Good!

If you haven't tried the limited edition coconut m&m's, you need to do it! They've only been available in certain parts of the US until recently. I was gifted some in my Christmas stocking this year and absolutely loved them, so needless to say I was pumped when I finally saw them today in the little shop by my office in NYC! As I've said before - sometimes it's the little things.

White Walls

There are lots of interior designers around, and many of them are great with color. That's a wonderful talent to have, but I think that it takes an even greater talent to design a white room.

California designer Amanda Masters has the gift. As you can see in the shots above, she knows how to create an interesting room against a blank backdrop. She pays extra attention to interesting shapes when choosing her furniture and lighting. I especially love the antler chandelier in the second room, and the headboard in the bedroom (which I believe is a repurposed antique screen).

Just beautiful!

Me Talk Pretty One Day

I was given this book as a gift recently. I loved it, but I just haven't had a chance to write about it yet with all of the wedding events that have been going on!

David Sedaris has a great cynical sense of humor and tells childhood stories with a style all his own. Expect a few stories about drugs and some rough life experiences, but he puts a pretty funny spin on the good and the bad!

The Reception

Here's just a sampling of pictures from the wedding reception. It was a fabulous party to say the least. Geneva and Brian drove up from Atlanta for the wedding, which I didn't know that they were going to do. Needless to say it was such a wonderful surprise to see them!!

Such a Beautiful Bride!

It goes without saying that Girl Logan was the most beautiful bride I've seen. Everything that she picked for her wedding day suited her to a T. She is now (finally) an official member of the family and I couldn't be happier to have her as a sister.

The wedding was at Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN where all of us went to high school. The setting and the weather cooperated perfectly. And I managed to keep the tears under control during the ceremony, which was a miracle in itself!

So Many Places To Be, So Little Time to Blog!

Well, I officially missed my first blog post since I've started this little project. It's hard to find time to post in the midst of wedding festivities! Sorry to those of you who follow me everyday. I'll try not to do it again any time soon :)

Yesterday started with an early visit with my mother, followed by Girl Logan's bridesmaid's luncheon at Linda W's house, and then the rehearsal at Baylor followed by the rehearsal dinner at Coolidge Park.

A full day, and i loved every minute of it.

Back Together Again

Kane and Logan are finally back together. It's been too long this time! We're back in Chattanooga and looking forward to a fun and busy wedding weekend.

It's hard to believe that it's been almost 2-1/2 years since our Chattanooga wedding. Time flies!

Four Seasons

The Four Seasons Chicago was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there! Be sure to check it out the next time you're there :)

I'm Back!

I'm back in NYC, just in time to pack and leave tomorrow for Tennessee! I had to leave half-way through our week-long Chicago installation in order to fly home for the Logan's wedding. So, unfortunately I don't have finished pics because nothing is finished yet!! (It takes a while to style an 11,000 square foot house.) Here's a sneak peak at a couple of rooms. I'll post finished pics as soon as I can.
This is the Family Room. As you can see, I took this before any books, accessories, or floor lamps. It's really shaping into a comfortable room.
This is the Sun Room. It's got great natural light and looks out over the pool and Lake Michigan. We're still missing a leather ottoman and artwork that won't arrive until later.

I can't wait to show you all the finished products!

One More Day

I've got one more day in Chicago before I head back to New York. Then I've just got a few hours before I fly to Tennessee. I'm really getting excited for this weekend. Logan and Logan's wedding is finally here and I can hardly believe it! It's going to be beautiful, and no one deserves it more than they do.

A Room With A View

After a long and exhausting (but productive) day one of our job installation, I am completely pooped. But not too pooped to appreciate the view from my 38th floor hotel room. And not too pooped to appreciate how comfortable the mattress in my room is!

The Windy City

My posting is going to be a little light for the next few days. I'm in Chicago for a client installation until Wednesday night. Luckily, I'm staying in a great hotel that has a business center with computers for my use. I was worried that I would have to break my posting streak!! I'm shocked that I still haven't missed a day since I started this little blog project.

Hopefully I'll have some great pictures to share of the completed job sometime later this week.

A Happy Birthday, Indeed!

Thank you all for your happy birthday wishes yesterday. We had our first salsa class last night and learned a little bit, but we definitely need more work!

Right on cue for the first day of spring, we had unbelievably beautiful weather in New York today. Kane and I had brunch with a good friend on the outdoor patio at Dos Caminos in Soho and then spent a couple of hours in the park.

They say that weather directly effects people's moods. I believe it after today and not just for me. The whole city was in a better mood today now that we can see the end of this long winter!

The Little Things

My office gave me this pretty little Hyacinth plant today for my birthday. Isn't it sweet? I'm going to keep it at my desk to brighten my day. It's the little things that count after all.

Hopefully I can keep it alive for a while!

2010 Census

Kane and I filled out our Census form tonight. It was our first time to do it and it made us feel pretty grown up! Everyone be sure to take care of this important little detail.

Travel Posters

Images from All Posters.
I'm a big fan of travel posters, even though they are a bit cliche. Usually I prefer the vintage French versions like the ones above, but these new graphic USA travel posters by Heads of State are really excellent. They would be great hung as a series in a hallway.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I hope all of you had a fabulous St. Patrick's Day! If you still need to find a little something green, you could always pick up this beauty from Tiffany

The Tipping Point

Image from Barnes and Noble.
I finished reading The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell today. It's an interesting outline of how social epidemics (ideas, trends, products, etc.) spread throughout society, and what causes them to 'tip'.

It's not a book for the fiction lover, but it's pretty cool all the same. I recommend it - just don't expect it to be a page turner!

Dance Lessons!

I'm so excited! Kane's birthday gift to me this year is dancing classes! We've been talking about doing it for a while, but we're finally going to do it. We're going to go with salsa. I'll keep you posted about how it goes.

Pictures on the Wall

Image from Elle Decor April 2010 issue.
The April issue of Elle Decor is out, and I love this apartment. I was so excited to see what was on the back wall to the right of the window. I thought I was the only one who has unframed photos taped to the wall! It's such a no-no, but I love mine anyway.

We saw Alice in Wonderland in 3-D tonight. It was excellent!! Don't you love my stylin' glasses?

Brooklyn Flea

Kane and I braved the monsoon today to go to Brooklyn Flea. I was planning on waiting until the summer to go so that it would be warm and outdoors, but then I heard about how great the building is where they house the market during the winter. I'm so glad that we went!

Excuse my dark pictures! It was a gloomy day.
I love these old seltzer bottles.
I thought of Spencer Morgan Designs when I saw this great costume jewelry!

Kane checking it out.
They house Brooklyn Flea at One Hanson Place during the winter. The building is the former home of the Williamsburgh Savings Bank. The seller's set up their stalls around and behind the old bank teller windows. And, in the basement of the bank they have tons of local food vendors set up inside the old bank vault! It was so cool to walk through the old vault doors!

I bought a painted picture frame. I'll post about it once I get it hung!
